Physical Characteristics
The electronics are enclosed in an extruded aluminum chassis measuring roughly 4” x 1.5” x 5”. StringPort is designed so up to four units can fit in a single 1U rack space. Since power requirements approach the limits of USB powered devices, a rear mounted power jack and power supply are provided to ensure reliable operations.

Audio Path to Computer
Polyphonic audio (up to six strings) enters the StringPort through the industry standard 13-pin connector (which works with polyphonic MIDI pickups such as Roland GK, Zeta, Graph Tech, Godin, RMC). An Aux Input (with phantom power) for mics or synth audio and an Instrument Input are conveniently located on the front panel. Each of these eight inputs has a digitally controlled analog trim and is finally routed via USB2 into the computer. StringPort has a MIDI input for a MIDI controller or floor pedal.

Outputs
A pair of high quality audio outputs is provided. They are differential ¼” jacks with switchable -10 and +4 levels. A 3.5mm headphone jack and volume control are present on the front panel. The user available MIDI outports and the USB type B connector also appear on the rear of the unit.
