The QuNexus Chord Builder is a Max for Live device for mapping extra notes to any key on the keyboard. Each key can have a different chord built on it with any number of notes. Chords can be made to sound low and warm by emphasizing the low notes, or you can create harmonics to cut through a mix by making the high notes louder. The device is also velocity sensitive, so the harder you play, the louder the overall chord will be. The Chord Builder can achieve effects similar to an additive synthesizer by using many notes at once, but since it is a midi effect which can control any of Live’s synths, waveforms can get very complex with only a couple of clicks.
